Information

Akame is the leader of Crimson Moon and one of Valralor’s most renowned S-Rank adventurers. Trained by her father, Hiro, she learned the art of the katana from a young age, practicing with the very weapon he once used in the Valralorian Military. Shortly before their village was attacked, Akame was entrusted with a custom-made katana that matched her distinctive crimson style.

Despite her skill, Akame wasn’t initially the strongest among her friends; her best friends, Kurami—a powerful shark-folk warrior—and Tetsuhana—a mix of demon and kitsune—surpassed her in strength. While Akame was a highly trained swordswoman, she struggled to fully leverage her abilities due to a lack of physical power.

Akame is also the older sister to Suzuran, who is ten years younger. Deeply protective, Akame has always been devoted to Suzuran’s happiness, although she spent much of their early life apart to provide for her adoptive family, which included Kurami’s household.

Beneath her strength and leadership, Akame carries many secrets, unknown to even her closest allies. However, as Crimson Moon grows and adventures continue, these hidden parts of her life are beginning to surface. Her friends have started noticing a dramatic increase in her power, marking the unfolding of untold mysteries surrounding her.

Abilities

Crimson Slash

Though not technically an ability, the Crimson Slash has become a signature technique associated with Akame’s fighting style, named by none other than Sunder, the top-ranked S-Rank adventurer in Valralor. Sunder, who mentored Akame when she first began adventuring, was the first to witness the slash firsthand. Initially, it appeared as a straightforward strike, yet it contains a potent crimson energy that can cut through nearly any material. Unlike a typical finishing move, Akame uses the Crimson Slash fluidly in combat, channeling her full strength and focus into each blow. When Sunder first faced the Crimson Slash, he quickly dodged, recognizing the technique’s destructive force as it cleaved through a hill behind him.

Temporal Cut

During the undead invasion in the Domain of Tides territory, Akame gains a mysterious technique known as the "Temporal Cut" from an unnamed entity. This ability allows her to slice through reality itself, opening a temporary rift into an unknown realm—a dark void illuminated by a faint red glow along the horizon. The floor of this realm appears as water, yet when Akame reaches down, there is nothing tangible to touch. Within this realm, Akame can point her katana to a specific spot, activating a spirit-like vision of her original entry point. This vision appears as though time has drastically slowed outside, allowing her to choose a precise location to reappear. She can use this skill to gain a tactical advantage, like positioning herself behind an opponent or at a higher vantage point, provided it’s within a limited radius of her initial slash.

While Akame has not yet discovered any side effects of remaining in this temporal realm, she limits herself to no more than thirty seconds inside, wary of the unknown consequences and has only used this technique a total of three times since the events of the Domain of Tides.

Strength

Though not formally an ability, Akame’s incredible strength has been a mystery since the destruction of her village in her youth. Following that event, something awakened within her, granting her destructive power. She rarely unleashes it, but her guild members and sister, Suzuran, have seen glimpses—especially during recent events, like her duel with Suzuran for her promotion to S-Rank. Despite these displays, her full strength remains unseen, yet even the small glimpses leave a lasting, intimidating impression.

Unknown Abilities

The limits of Akame’s powers remain undiscovered. Even her closest allies are unaware of what else she might be capable of, as her full abilities have yet to be tested or revealed.

Relationships

Suzuran

Akame’s younger sister, shares a complex bond with her older sibling. Akame has always been fiercely protective and willing to do whatever it takes to keep Suzuran happy, yet circumstances kept them apart for much of Suzuran’s childhood. After the destruction of their village, they were taken in by Kurami, Akame’s best friend, who became their adoptive sister. While Akame took on as many quests as possible to support the family, Suzuran rarely saw her between the ages of 9 and 16. During these years, Kurami acted more as an older sister to Suzuran, filling the role that Akame’s absence left behind.

When Suzuran started adventuring at 16, she would sometimes encounter Akame in the field. Each time, Akame made an effort to connect, cherishing every chance to be a sister in ways she couldn’t before. While Suzuran understands and appreciates Akame’s sacrifices, the process of fully reconnecting as sisters is still ongoing.

Kurami

Kurami and Akame’s friendship began in their early days in Whisperwind Village, where they quickly became inseparable. Known for her adventurous and tomboyish spirit, Kurami often found herself in trouble, bringing a lively edge to their friendship. She was the first of their close-knit group to leave the village, moving away three years before the attack that ultimately destroyed Whisperwind Village.

As a best friend, Kurami has always been willing to call Akame out when needed, providing guidance and unwavering support. When Akame founded Crimson Moon, she invited Kurami to join, a message Suzuran extended when they reunited at their home in Opal's Reach. Kurami gladly accepted and moved herself and her grandmother, Grammy, to join them.

Tetsuhana

Tetsuhana, known as "Hana," was one of Akame’s closest friends in their hometown of Whisperwind Village. With a mischievous and spirited personality, Hana often defended her friends by standing up to bullies and sometimes pulling them into trouble with her antics. She moved to the Iron Legions with her family two years before the attack on Whisperwind, but she and Akame remained in touch through letters until communication became difficult. When the letters stopped and an assassination in the Iron Legions led to a lockdown, Hana grew concerned that something may have happened to her friends, but she was unable to search for Akame or Kurami. In time, Hana became a renowned arena fighter, earning the nickname "Stormclaw."

Years later, Akame searched for Hana over several days before finally finding her at her family’s blacksmith shop in the Iron Legions. They reconnected, and Akame invited Hana to join Crimson Moon. Though initially hesitant to leave her family, Hana accepted when Akame promised a well-equipped blacksmith shop and comfortable living space for her family in the guild village. During their reunion, Hana witnessed Akame’s newfound strength, a display that left a lasting impression. Their rekindled bond marked the beginning of new adventures, with Hana joining her old friend on the path forward

Kurohime

Akame and Kurohime share a new yet close bond, having founded Crimson Moon together. From the beginning, Kurohime has been openly flirtatious with Akame, frequently attempting to entice her into joining her in her bed for sex. However, her advances gradually subsided as she found companionship with Yukari and Luna and respected Akame more as a person and leader. Kurohime acts as the second-in-command of Crimson Moon whenever Akame is away. Although Akame trusts Kurohime’s abilities to lead if she were to focus seriously, she harbors a concern that the guild might take on a more sexual atmosphere under Kurohime’s prolonged leadership.

Fae

Akame places complete trust in Fae’s role as the guild manager of Crimson Moon. From the very beginning, Fae was instrumental in helping Akame and Kurohime acquire the land they needed to establish the guild, and she has since become the backbone of the guild’s management. As the appointed manager, Fae oversees finances, expenditures, and organizes guild events or missions. Although initially reserved, Fae has gradually opened up to Akame, who enjoys her company during late nights spent on guild paperwork. Fae often insists on completing the paperwork herself, encouraging Akame to rest, which Akame deeply appreciates.

Yukari

Akame’s relationship with Yukari began when she freed Yukari from a curse within a necromancer’s lair. Upon her revival, Yukari quickly recognized Akame’s monstrous aura, surpassing even Kurohime’s. Akame invited Yukari to join Crimson Moon, appointing her as the guild’s librarian and granting her the resources to continue her research. Recognizing Yukari’s extensive experience from leading the Valralorian Assassin’s Guild, Akame made her third-in-command, essentially cementing her as another founding member of Crimson Moon. Yukari’s knowledge has become instrumental to the guild, where she now co-leads Crimson Moon’s assassin group alongside Yuzuki.

Luna

Akame sees Luna’s addition to Crimson Moon as a significant benefit to the guild. Luna’s discipline helps keep fellow armored maids, Scarlet and Azure, focused on their duties, and her unique fighting style strengthens the guild’s defenses. While Akame is aware of Luna’s sexual tendencies, she appreciates that Luna keeps this side of herself private. Akame learned about this aspect of Luna’s background during a conversation about the armored maids’ roles, where Luna shared that fulfilling personal sexual needs was often considered part of the duty in the armored maids culture, at least within the rabbit-folk.

Akame clarified that Crimson Moon had different expectations. She encouraged Luna to allow other armored maids to choose for themselves if they wished to take on such roles, emphasizing that their primary responsibilities were to manage the guild’s operations and protect the village and its members.

Sunder

Sunder, a mysterious and powerful S-Rank adventurer, holds a unique place in Akame’s life. Early in her adventuring days, Akame encountered Sunder, who took on a mentor-like role, teaching her advanced blade techniques and testing her abilities in a duel that ultimately helped her achieve S-Rank status. Despite his reserved nature and enigmatic presence, concealed by full-body armor, Sunder gradually became a trusted friend. He also met Akame’s younger sister, Suzuran, when she was nine, and developed a gentle, almost fatherly bond with her, offering comfort during her childhood.

It has been nearly a decade since Akame or Suzuran last saw Sunder, yet Akame still thinks of him and occasionally wonders about his well-being, confident that wherever he is, he remains as strong as ever.
