Suzuran

Suzuran is the younger sister of Akame and shares a deep, complex bond with her. At 19 years old, Suzuran is ten years younger than Akame and grew up largely under the care of Kurami, their adoptive sister and one of Akame's best friends. Following the tragic destruction of their village, Suzuran and Akame were the only survivors, and they found a new home with Kurami and her family at Opal's Reach. While Akame was often away on quests to provide for their new family, Suzuran spent her early years missing her sister but came to understand Akame’s sacrifices and dedication to protecting and supporting her.

Suzuran’s path eventually led her into adventuring at age 16, where she would occasionally cross paths with Akame. Over time, Suzuran has grown into a capable adventurer herself, gradually reconnecting with Akame through shared experiences and mutual respect. Now a valued member of Crimson Moon, Suzuran navigates guild life with courage and determination, influenced by both her sister and the unique friendships she has formed, including her romance with Yuzuki who has been with her every step of the way.

Abilities​

Amber Slash

Similar to Akame’s Crimson Slash, though not considered a formal ability, Suzuran’s strikes emit flashes of amber light due to the incredible speed of her swings. These flashes have even been observed illuminating the area around her during nighttime battles. While the true nature of this ability remains unknown, some speculate that Suzuran’s Amber Slash may share similar attributes or power with Akame’s technique.

Agility 

Suzuran’s exceptional agility places her among the top adventurers in Valralor. Although new to adventuring, she achieved S-Rank within three years, a feat that usually takes others a decade to accomplish. Her speed is so impressive that she sometimes creates afterimages, depending on the terrain and her opponent. To date, her sister Akame is the only one known to have outmatched her agility with pure brute strength.

Unknown Abilities

It is believed that Suzuran may possess additional, latent abilities that have yet to manifest. These powers could require specific conditions or experiences to fully awaken.

Relationships​

Yuzuki

Suzuran and Yuzuki’s relationship had an intriguing beginning in the Valralorian Capital. Suzuran, needing to repair one of her blades, found herself without the required rare materials. Yuzuki, who had already noticed Suzuran’s presence at the adventurer's guild and was intrigued by her, happened to come across her at the blacksmith. Sensing an opportunity, Yuzuki offered to help Suzuran find what she needed, and together they set out for a nearby catacomb that contained the material. Their shared journey took an unexpected turn when members of Yuzuki’s old guild ambushed them, assassins seeking revenge after she killed mostly all the members. Although Yuzuki insisted Suzuran keep out of the fight, knowing the attackers were after her alone, Suzuran quickly stepped in upon spotting one of them attempting fight dirty and backstab Yuzuki. With Suzuran’s help—and support from Azure and Scarlet—they managed to fend off the ambush. After the fight, Yuzuki, visibly shaken, confided her past struggles to Suzuran. Overcome with emotion, she allowed herself to be vulnerable, and Suzuran offered comfort, allowing Yuzuki to release her pain.

As they camped by the fire just outside the catacombs, they continued to talk openly while Azure and Scarlet slept, sharing experiences and building a deeper connection. Yuzuki leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on Suzuran’s cheek as a thank-you, catching her completely off guard. Back at the capital the following day, Suzuran had her blade repaired and returned to the adventurer’s guild to complete her documentation for her rank up duel. During this visit, Yuzuki once again expressed her gratitude. As Suzuran protested, saying thanks weren’t necessary, Yuzuki silenced her with a soft kiss on the lips. The kiss left Suzuran in a dazed state, so much so that the guild receptionist had to call her name several times to snap her out of it.

Before Suzuran left the capital, Yuzuki approached her and asked if she could accompany her. This time, it was Suzuran who took the initiative, leaning in and giving Yuzuki a deep, passionate kiss. Her boldness surprised Yuzuki, and the two shared a moment solidifying their relationship. Since their arrival at Crimson Moon, Suzuran and Yuzuki have shared a room, enjoying each other’s presence and bodies every day. In the bedroom, Suzuran takes on a sweet, adorable role, while Yuzuki tends to be the stronger, guiding anchor. However, the roles have been known to switch, bringing a playful and dynamic aspect to their relationship. Although they try to keep their affection private, some guild members have overheard what was happening in their room—particularly when Yuzuki jokes about their nightly escapades over breakfast, causing Suzuran to blush, playfully punch her, and pout, much to the amusement of those around them.

Kurohime

Kurohime has taken on a caring, almost motherly role in Suzuran’s life, offering her guidance and support. While Akame approves of their bond, she’s not entirely thrilled with Kurohime’s more playful advice, particularly when it comes to Suzuran’s relationship with Yuzuki. Kurohime is always suggesting ways for Suzuran to “spice things up,” often recommending various nightwear or enticing attire to liven up their private time. She even gifted Suzuran some lingerie, which Suzuran tried on in secret. Yuzuki happened to glimpse her in it one day by accident, and since then, she has eagerly anticipated seeing Suzuran wear it in the bedroom.

Akiko

Akiko and Suzuran first met in Mahina Village, where Suzuran responded to a guild request to help manage a persistent Nue threat that had overwhelmed Akiko. The two fought side by side, and Akiko quickly became captivated by Suzuran, especially after seeing her toned physique while she was training. Infatuated, Akiko began flirting with Suzuran, determined to win her over, whether as a girlfriend or otherwise. However, Suzuran gently turned her down, making it clear she wasn’t interested in a romantic relationship.

When Akiko later learned that Suzuran was dating Yuzuki, she felt defeated and depressed. Still, Suzuran suggested they become friends instead, expressing that while romance wasn’t their destiny, a close friendship might be. Akiko accepted, cherishing their friendship as something meaningful and fated.

Kurami

Kurami holds a unique place in Suzuran’s heart as both a close friend and an adoptive sister figure. After the loss of Suzuran’s village, Kurami welcomed both Suzuran and Akame into her family at Opal’s Reach, becoming a constant support for Suzuran from the age of six until she turned sixteen. With Akame often away on quests, Kurami filled the role of an older sister, offering guidance, love, and friendship during Suzuran’s teenage years. Even now, with the Crimson Moon guild established in Redcrest, Kurami continues to be a caring presence in Suzuran’s life, loving her as deeply as a true sister.

Akame

Suzuran’s relationship with her older sister, Akame, is complex. While she loves Akame dearly and understands the reasons behind her frequent absences growing up, Suzuran sometimes wishes her sister had been more present, as Kurami was. Now that they’re both part of Crimson Moon, Akame is actively working to rebuild their sisterly bond, showing a genuine desire to reconnect. Despite their past distance, Akame’s fierce protectiveness over Suzuran has never wavered. Whenever Suzuran’s safety is threatened, Akame’s anger and determination to shield her are unwavering, a trait Suzuran has always cherished.

However, in recent years, Suzuran has noticed some inconsistencies in Akame’s account of the tragic events at Whisperwind Village, where they were the only survivors. These details have raised lingering questions in Suzuran’s mind, casting a subtle mystery over what actually happened during the events that changed their lives.
