Information

Yukari was once the feared leader of the Valralorian Assassin's Guild over 100 years ago. Known for her exceptional skill and ruthless efficiency, she wielded a dual-bladed scythe, earning the title of a "monster" that struck fear into even the bravest hearts. Her exploits and her name became legend, whispered in cautionary tales for generations.

At 40, her life took a tragic turn when she was cursed by a necromancer, trapping her in a state between life and death for a century. For 100 years, she endured an existence of suffering, neither alive nor at peace. Her suffering ended when Akame freed her from the curse, and Kurohime resurrected her using spectral magic, granting her new abilities and a chance at life once more.

Now, Yukari serves as the spectral librarian and co-founder of Crimson Moon. Her vast knowledge and deadly skills have been repurposed to support and protect the guild. Yukari, however, is infamous for her indulgent sexual relationship with Kurohime—a fact Akame often comments on, calling Yukari one of many "women in heat." Despite this reputation, Yukari is a composed and calculating mentor, providing guidance to newer guild members like Suzuran and Yuzuki.

Her connection to Yuzuki, a modern-day assassin of the same guild Yukari once led, is particularly strong. Yuzuki seeks Yukari’s mentorship, valuing her wisdom and learning her refined techniques to uphold and rebuild the assassin legacy Yukari once embodied.

Abilities

Assassin Skills

During her time, Yukari was considered the peak of all assassins, known to strike fear into her targets. She wielded a dual-bladed scythe, a unique choice among assassins, and was referred to as a "monster" that even parents warned their children about.

Spectral Grasp

After her resurrection, Yukari gained the ability to extend her hands using spectral hands within a 30-foot radius. Though she appears to motion as if grabbing at thin air, she can manipulate objects and interact with her environment as if using her physical hands.

Spirit Communication

Yukari’s connection to the spirit world allows her to see and communicate with spirts of those who are dead. While most spirits do not initiate contact, Yukari can interact with them and ask them questions if needed.

Spirit Sight

By forming a temporary contract with a spirit, Yukari can use its vision to see into the spirit world and into the real world. This ability functions similarly to how rangers use the sight of animal companions. This 'sight' goes as far as 500 feet in radius and will last as long as she needs unless the spirit is weak.

Relationships

Akame

Yukari holds Akame in the highest regard, viewing her not only as the leader of Crimson Moon but also as the one who rescued her from suffering. She respects Akame’s leadership and discipline, often showing a deep sense of loyalty and obedience. However, Yukari is quick to notice inconsistencies in Akame's history, which led her to suspect a possible connection to an ancient past. Despite these suspicions, Yukari never confronts Akame directly, trusting in her leader’s judgment and decisions. This respect for Akame is unshakable, and Yukari takes her responsibilities under Akame very seriously.

Kurohime

Yukari’s relationship with Kurohime is one Akame finds "annoying" due to its casual nature. The two share a purely physical relationship, indulging in each other’s bodies whenever the mood strikes. They are not romantically involved, and neither seeks anything more than sex. Akame once discovered Yukari leaving Kurohime’s room early one morning and wasn’t amused by their behavior, but she tolerates it. Yukari, aware of Kurohime’s flirtatious tendencies with others, feels no jealousy over Kurohime’s other flings, but their bond remains strong in its own way—founded on mutual physical satisfaction and respect.

Suzuran

Yukari views Suzuran, Akame’s younger sister, in a more protective and nurturing light. In many ways, Yukari sees Suzuran as a daughter and frequently offers her advice and guidance. This mentorship extends especially to Suzuran's relationship with her girlfriend, Yuzuki. Yukari enjoys watching Suzuran grow and develop, often finding amusement and pride in the younger woman's journey. While Yukari never tries to interfere too much, she offers gentle nudges of support. This dynamic sometimes mirrors Yukari’s own caring yet somewhat distant personality, as she enjoys playing the role of the wise and experienced mentor.

Yuzuki

Yukari has a strong connection with Yuzuki, forged through their shared history with the assassin’s guild. Despite their generational gap, Yukari respects Yuzuki’s decisions and sees her as a worthy successor to the assassin's legacy—one who fixed what had become broken within the guild. Yukari knows that Yuzuki looks up to her and tries to be a steady figure in Yuzuki’s life, making sure that she never betrays her trust. Yukari often shares her wisdom with Yuzuki, offering tips and lessons from her long and storied past, which Yuzuki values immensely.

Luna

Yukari's relationship with Luna began with tension and jealousy when she discovered Luna was having a "fling" with Kurohime. Initially, Yukari couldn’t help but feel a bit jealous, as Luna’s frequent visits to Kurohime’s quarters were not just for cleaning duties, but also for more sex. However, Yukari quickly recognized the childishness of her jealousy, given that her own relationship with Kurohime wasn’t exclusive or romantic. Soon after, Yukari saw an opportunity and decided to pursue sex with Luna as well. Luna began "cleaning" Yukari’s room with a similar level of commitment and intimacy. Over time, the tension between the three eased, and Yukari, Luna, and Kurohime all settled into an understanding of their various flings without emotional complications.

Nicknames

The Demon Assassin

This was Yukari’s primary nickname, earned over a century ago during her time in the Assassin’s Guild. It stemmed from her unorthodox and brutally efficient combat style, which stood in stark contrast to the typical assassin’s precision and stealth. She fought like a demon or a wild beast, overwhelming her enemies with sheer ferocity. Her bloodlust was legendary, and her kills were gruesome—dismembering and eviscerating targets rather than simply eliminating them. She left battlefields painted in blood, and even among her own guildmates, stories circulated of her mindless, almost possessed state in combat. Her presence alone struck terror into those who opposed her, and in recounting tales of her feats, even fellow assassins admitted she was more monster than human when she fought.

Beauty of Death

This nickname was less widely known but existed in assassin documents and guild records. It emerged after Yukari stepped back from active missions and began focusing on managing her library and guild operations. While she was no longer actively hunting, her presence alone was enough to remind people of her lethality. She adopted a more revealing outfit—a dress that accentuated her cleavage, thighs, and curves. Despite her changed role, the name still tied back to her origins, keeping “death” in the title as a reminder that even if she wasn’t on the battlefield, her power had not faded. Those who knew the truth understood that the beauty she displayed was a deception—beneath it lay the same monster that had once bathed in the blood of her enemies.
