Dragonoid
Race: Dragonoid
Category: Humanoid
Lifespan: 120–160 years

Backstory:
Dragonoids are a relatively new addition to the humanoid races, having changed from their primal dragon counterparts. About 800 years ago, just shortly after the formation of the Dragon Lord Council, some dragons in Draconia began to transform into humanoid forms randomly. This sudden evolution was deemed a curse at first, and the newly transformed dragons were immediately looked down upon and at some points during this time, they were even killed or enslaved.

During this period, the majority of the Dragon Lord Council believed this ‘curse’ was inflicted by a neighboring nation seeking to weaken or exterminate them. However, it was later revealed, as a civil war began to erupt, that the leader of the Dragon Lord Council, a Holy Dragon named Lumaria, was the one who initiated the transformation. She worked in secret with other lords who despised the abusive and oppressive culture that had ruled Draconia for centuries.

This ‘curse’ had actually been applied to all dragons, but its effects varied. Some were simply granted the ability to shift between primal and humanoid forms at will, while others—especially among the general population—were permanently transformed into humanoid form without the ability to revert.

Once Lumaria’s role was discovered, a fierce but brief battle ensued. She was immediately killed by the other Dragon Lords, and her remaining supporters quickly fled. Among those loyal to Lumaria were Crystaura and Galazyr, two of the founding and most ancient dragons from the counsil. Most of their underlings, including other dragons who supported the changes, were executed.

Unfortunately, Lumaria was never given the chance to explain her reasoning for the transformation. The Dragon Lords who opposed her never allowed her time to speak.

Despite the chaos, around 200 Dragonoids managed to escape Draconia during the short civil war, spreading their race throughout Aelyndra. In the aftermath, the ruling lords of Draconia mockingly labeled those who had changed as “Curseborn,” implying they were tainted and were the “firstborns” of the curse.
Even in modern times, Dragonoids remain rare outside of Draconia due to lingering prejudice and political complications. Those who remained within Draconia have, for the most part, been brainwashed and brought under complete control of the Dragon Lord Council. However, a hidden network exists that helps smuggle dissenters out of the kingdom.

Newer generations of Dragonoids retain several dragon-like features in their humanoid forms. These include dragon-like eyes, horns, wings, and tails. Every Dragonoid possesses the ability to hide their wings and tails when necessary, though doing so somewhat limits their power. Many refer to their winged and tailed form as their “true form.”

Earlier generations—especially the original Curseborn—had far more prominent dragon traits. These early Dragonoids had scales, clawed hands and feet, and were much more physically distinct from humans. It wasn’t until around the 8th generation of children, that physical differences began to fade.

Intimacy & Relationships:
Interracial relationships involving Dragonoids are less common compared to other races. However, Dragonoids are capable of mating with every other race. The dragon gene tends to dominate, resulting in offspring that are always draconic in appearance and abilities. That said, when Dragonoids mate with humans, the gene begins to dilute. Over time, only minor features like horn stubs or strong physical builds may remain.

Interestingly, despite the physical traits fading, the strength of Dragonoid offspring appears to increase with each generation—even among those with diluted dragon blood. This has led researchers to believe that the dragon’s strength may be tied to soul inheritance rather than physical traits.

Only in the last 300 years have Dragonoids felt safe enough to pursue relationships outside their own kind. Their earliest and most comfortable pairings were with humans. For over a century, human partners were favored, especially due to their emotional openness and sexual compatibility.

About 200 years ago, Dragonoids began exploring unions with other races.

Male Dragonoids who ventured to Solvarra discovered the pleasures of mating with Lamias, a union that quickly became an obsession for them. The hypersexual nature of Lamias overwhelmed most Dragonoid males, and some chose to remain in Solvarra permanently.

Despite all this, Dragonoids are cautious about love. Because of their history and the continuing political unrest in Draconia, they are hesitant to pursue relationships. For example, the Domain of Tides currently bans Dragonoid visitors unless they are part of an adventuring guild, and they forbid Dragonoid mating entirely—out of suspicion that Draconia may be attempting to infiltrate their kingdom through breeding.
When a Dragonoid does fall in love, they express it slowly. They wait patiently, observing whether their affections are returned before making a move.

Male Dragonoids are more direct but sensitive to rejection. A harsh refusal can permanently crush their hopes, making them give up immediately. However, if they are accepted, their pride often inflates, and they develop an ego—sometimes to the irritation of their mate. For this reason, this is why they prefer Lamias, who are more indulgent of their egos and sexual needs.

Female Dragonoids are most drawn to human males, kitsune, and elves—with human men being their most desired partners. They have a particular affection for shy, reserved men. Even if a Dragonoid woman is shy herself.

Female Dragonoids are sensual, passionate, and deeply affectionate lovers. They prefer long, slow foreplay and take great care in ensuring their partner feels loved and desired. Once they become mothers, their priorities shift entirely toward their family. They are fiercely protective and nurturing, often stepping away from combat or adventuring to care for their children.

Despite their maternal focus, their sexual needs remain strong. Female Dragonoids still crave nightly affection and intimacy with their partner. Since they don’t want too many children, they become experts at seduction, foreplay, and using their partner’s body for pleasure without necessarily climaxing inside.
