Wolfkin

Race: Wolfkin
Category: Humanoid
Lifespan: 70-100 years

Backstory:

Wolf Demi-Humans, commonly referred to as "Wolfkin," represent the apex of the canine subspecies of demi-humans. Known for their fierce nature, exceptional strength, and remarkable speed, Wolfkin often form tightly-knit communities that mirror the pack structure of their wild counterparts. While pack life is the norm, some Wolfkin choose to work independently, following their own path.

Wolfkin are highly intelligent, almost rivaling the cunning and strategic prowess of Kitsune folk. However, their natural inclination towards physical prowess and action over strategy sometimes leads others to view them as "muscle heads" rather than tacticians.

In the realm of adventuring, Wolfkin predominantly take on roles that emphasize their physical abilities, such as warriors, blacksmiths, brawlers, thieves, or assassins.

Yuzuki, a member of the Crimson Moon guild, is a prime example. After witnessing Suzuran's power, Yuzuki immediately recognized her as the alpha and developed a deep affection for her.

Intimacy & Relationships:

Male Wolfkin are often seen as natural alphas, assuming leadership roles in guilds and similar organizations. They possess a magnetic charm that easily attracts female canine and feline demi-humans.

While they primarily mate with other Wolfkin females, they have been known to form relationships with Kitsune females and, though rarely, Neko females. The natural rivalry between canines and felines makes Wolf and Neko pairings extremely uncommon.

Male Wolfkin have above-normal sex drives, and those who find themselves attracted to them often become their mates. These males view breeding as a means of strengthening their pack, producing offspring to carry on their legacy.

While the practice of taking multiple mates and avoiding formal marriage is less common today, it remains prevalent in some traditional Wolfkin clans.

Female Wolfkin rarely assume the alpha role, but exceptions exist. Notably, one of the top guilds in Valralor is led by two female Wolfkin — one an S-Rank adventurer and the other a high-ranked A-Rank adventurer.

Female Wolfkin who operate outside of a pack often pursue careers as assassins, thieves, or users of the dark arts.

Unlike their male counterparts, female Wolfkin's high sex drives are driven more by the desire for physical pleasure and intimacy than by the urge to breed.

Consequently, some female Wolfkin seek relationships outside their race, often marrying human males for companionship and to settle down. Powerful female Wolfkin, in particular, tend to seek out equally powerful mates, whether male or female, from other humanoid races.

When it comes to breeding, female Wolfkin typically settle for one or two children. However, in rare cases, childbirth can trigger an extreme increase in a mother's sex drive, lasting up to a year, during which she desires to produce more offspring with her mate.

In instances where female Wolfkin mate with other females of another race, the absence of breeding shifts their focus entirely to physical intimacy, often resulting in a tripling of their usual sex drive.
